About the Doctor

     Dr. Townsley has been practicing veterinary medicine for many years.  After obtaining a B.S. in Biology, Dr. Gregg graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.  He spent his early years practicing veterinary medicine in a well-established and very busy hospital in Palo Alto, California. After 2 1/2 years there, and having a desire to leave the Bay Area, Dr. Townsley then took an associate position in an established practice on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe.  After being in North Tahoe for a short period and recognizing a need for more sophisticated veterinary services, Dr. Townsley then established his own veterinary hospital and operated it as a solo practice for 13 years.  This hospital is still operating and was one of the nicest veterinary facilities in Lake Tahoe. 

    From Lake Tahoe Dr. Townsley moved to Scottsdale, AZ and started  Aaron's Ark Mobile Veterinary Services in October of 1999.  The mobile veterinary clinics are equipped and licensed to handle diagnostic procedures, dentistry and minor surgery. There is also a complete dentistry and oral surgical set up, treatment area, sterile surgery suite and hospitalization area at our base in North Scottsdale. This allows Aaron's Ark Mobile Veterinary Services to provide full veterinary services from exams, x-rays, vaccinations and dentistry to minor and major surgical procedures. If your pet is in our care and needs overnight hospitalization, you will not need to transfer it to an emergency facility.  We will ensure that your pet is provided 24 hour round the clock care if needed either at our facility, at a specialist hospital or at an emergency hospital.

     Dr. Townsley has always had high standards for his hospitals, particularly in cleanliness and quality of patient care.  While in Tahoe, he took on many challenging cases and honed his surgical skills.  He has successfully mastered orthopedic procedures and has a special interest in dentistry. Dr. Townsley has performed hundreds of knee surgerys on both cats and dogs. Most importantly, Dr. Townsley has the God-given gift of being able to handle, relate to, and understand animals.  Over the years he has worked with many aggressive or frightened pets in ways that have amazed both owners and staff. Dr. Townsley has treated raccoons and cougars, neutered wolves and skunks, and taken care of a wide variety of other critters! An outdoorsman at heart, Dr. Townsley also enjoys water & snow skiing, boating, hiking, backpacking, cycling, motorcycling, fishing and fly fishing, river rafting, canoeing, archery, trap & skeet shooting and photography.Visit Dr. Greggs photographic website at www.alanaphotography.com
